Agricultural Equipment Service Technician 

We are hiring in multiple locations, when applying please specify which of our locations you are interested in. 

Saskatchewan: Kindersley, Lloydminster, Unity, Perdue and Saskatoon. 

Alberta: High River and Olds. 

With Moody's as an Agricultural Equipment Service Technician you will:

  • Efficiently diagnose, repair and maintain a variety of agriculture equipment including combines, sprayers, seeders, and tractors. This is includes all electrical, engine, transmission, suspension, electrical, drive-line, HVAC, oil changes, testing of batteries, brakes etc.
  • Keep accurate, easy-to-read records of work performed.
  • Provide excellent customer service,
  • Be able to travel to customers’ sites and other locations.
  • Maintain safe work habits.
  • Be able to work overtime, and extended hours during 'peak' seasons.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Possess their Agriculture Equipment Journeyperson Certificate (If you have equivalent years of experience, or are an apprentices with experience you are also welcome to apply).
  • Be Proficient with all the tools of the trade including electronic diagnosing equipment.
  • Have experience in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining equipment.
  • Be able to accurately with detail complete work orders.
  • Hold a Valid driver's licence and a clean drivers abstract.

The Branch/Sales Manager will work to ensure that the branch consistently provides the best value for both our customers and the company by ensuring optimal performance and profitability. The Branch Manager reports directly to the CEO. 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Mentoring branch staff (sales, parts and service departments) and ensuring that they have training and development opportunities available
  • Demonstrate a value-based selling strategy that focuses on the customer experience and educating customers

Precision Land Management Specialist

The PLM Specialist is one of three members of Moody's Precision Land Management Department. This role will service our Saskatoon, Perdue and Kindersley Dealerships .

The Precision Land Management Team at Moody's Equipment LP is designed to help our customers by being on the leading edge of Agriculture technology through company and product support training.  Visiting with customers to provide solutions, training, troubleshooting or ensure their systems are working properly.  (High amounts of day travel are required for this position)

Key Responsibilities for the position:

  1. Provide knowledge and support to our customers, as well as internally to all departments in order to grow parts, service and whole goods.
  2. Troubleshooting Auto-guidance, GPS, application systems, moisture and yield monitoring in our OEM New Holland equipment and aftermarket Trimble and Raven systems.
  3. Attend appropriate training through sales and service with focus on monitors, guidance and steering systems, calibrations and user settings.
  4. Lead internal training sessions for our parts, service and sales department.
  5. Assist the sales staff when demonstrating equipment.
  6. Assist the sales department to provide initial start up farmer training on new equipment and used equipment when appropriate as determined by the sales department.
  7. Be involved with farmer clinics hosted by the dealership.
  8. Work together with whole good sales to identify key farmers to proactively sell PLM options with whole goods
Our ideal candidate:
  • Has farm experience running seeders, sprayers or harvesting equipment. 

  • Enjoys working with technology and troubleshooting electrical systems.  

  • Has worked with Bourgault/Topcon, Raven, Trimble or New Holland products.  

  • Experience with farm data management like application maps, yield and moisture data, Variable Rate, data software programs.

As an important member of the the service department they Quality Control Shop Foreperson will assist both apprentices and technicians in ensure work is completed efficiently and properly. Other key responsibilities include:

> Conduct quality control inspections on all equipment leaving the shop. Including customer walkthroughs when requested.

> Responsible for ensuring a safe work environment.

> Assist and mentor apprentices and technicians while ensuring the have adequate resources to complete their work.

> Advise customers of repairs and estimated costs.

We are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, and 7+ years of experience fixing Agriculture Equipment.

The Service Manager role in High River is an exciting opportunity to join a growing experienced team. The ideal candidate will have experience with Agriculture Equipment, previous leadership experience in leading an experienced group of techs, ability to coach our up and coming apprentices and play an integral role in growing the service business to contribute to the overall success of the dealership.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead the Service Department by directing, mentoring, coaching, and delegating your team.
  • Plan for and address and administration & management issues; including supervision of staff
  • Monitor budgetary and financial responsibilities.
  • Be able to ask for the business and control costs to ensure credible work orders for our customers.
  • Ensure bottom line profitability for Services.
  • Recruit and train department staff, and have new prospective employees lined up for all department roles.
  • Ensure the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment is maintained at the highest level.

 What you will need to Join Our Team:

  • Solid knowledge of technical aspects of the agriculture industry and equipment used
  • Strong computer and typing skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet
  • Strong understanding of labour and bill out rates from service department, as well as piece ranking reports, asset turnover and inventory control
  • 3-5 years’ Experience as a manager within a Service Department is preferred
  • Journeyman Status as an Agriculture Technician, or Heavy Duty preferred
