There has been much speculation in recent weeks regarding the overall health and stability of Moody’s Equipment; this announcement should put those concerns to rest.

A transition in ownership has occurred at Moody’s Equipment, as PFM Capital Inc. has acquired 100% ownership of all 8 New Holland dealership locations. This acquisition will become official as of April 29, 2016. Moody’s Equipment currently has locations in Saskatoon, Perdue, Kindersley, Unity, and Lloydminster in Saskatchewan; and High River, Balzac, and Olds in Alberta.

PFM Capital Inc. is a private investment firm headquartered in Regina, SK and through its funds is responsible for investing capital, almost all of which is raised from Saskatchewan and Alberta investors. Several of the executives at PFM Capital have strong agricultural roots, and understand the importance of the industry in Western Canada. PFM Capital is committed to improving all facets of Moody’s Equipment; and looks forward to further developing strong business relationships in the communities in which Moody’s Equipment operates.

In addition to the change in ownership, there has been a significant change in leadership. The Joker is a high-speed, versatile new tillage tool; suitable for use both in the spring and fall seasons. This product offers a wide variety of applications, including residue mixing, field conditioning, seed bed preparation, and fertilizer incorporation. 20-inch notched disks are designed to rotate faster than traditional disks, allowing the machine to complete fields in half the time or less, on a per-foot basis, than similar tillage products on the market. However, one of its greatest benefits is its adaptability. The Joker can be used under just about any condition, particularly wet conditions, where similar products may fail. Here’s what one customer near Vauxhall, Alberta had to say about the Joker:


We use [The Joker] in the fall for stubble control and also after the potato harvest, to work the fields and cut the vines. We also use it for preparing the fields for the winter. I think I use the machine on every field, sometimes two to three times a season. It’s more accurate for depth control [than other tillage products], and you’re also able to use it in the spring for seed bed preparation. The machine really shines in wet conditions. We’ve used it over quite a few springs. You can’t wait for every spot to dry out – sometimes you have to just go, and this is the machine for that.

New Position Focused on Customer Satisfaction

Kobelco eyes US comeback with new plant

Kobelco Construction Machinery plans to build an American factory as early as 2015 to meet growing demand for equipment used in real estate development and shale gas production.

TOKYO – Kobelco Construction Machinery plans to build an American factory as early as 2015 to meet growing demand for equipment used in real estate development and shale gas production.

The wholly owned Kobe Steel subsidiary will spend 1 billion yen ($9.6 million) to as much as 2 billion yen on the new plant, which will make such equipment as excavators as well as some parts. The facility will have an annual production capacity of 2,000 to 3,000 units.

Since 2002, Kobelco had outsourced construction machinery sales in the U.S. and Europe to CNH Global of the Netherlands. But the partnership was terminated at the end of last year because Kobelco’s American market share had declined sharply.

The Japanese firm began building up its U.S. sales network at the start of the year. It has signed sales agent contracts with about 50 companies nationwide so far. Sales in the U.S. are projected to double to roughly 800 units this year.

Kobelco hopes to boost U.S. sales to 2,000 units in 2015 by adding another 10 or so agents to its network, aiming to take a 10% share of the U.S. market. By launching local production, it expects to offer more price competitive products that fit customers’ preferences.

Kobelco does not make large excavators used in mines, specializing instead in small and midsize models used at construction sites and other locations. Its products are known for good fuel efficiency. Once the new plant goes online, the company may ship products from the U.S. to Chile, Colombia and other South American markets.

Kobe Steel and U.S. Steel expanded their automotive steel sheet plant in the U.S. earlier this year. In addition to boosting output of construction machinery in that country, the Kobe Steel group intends to strengthen other fields expected to grow on the back of the shale gas boom, including machinery for plastic manufacturers and steel mills that use natural gas.

Kawasaki Introduces New Loader

KCMA Corporation, the marketer for Kawasaki wheel loaders in North America, is proud to announce the all new 92Z7 wheel loader. This outstanding machine is completely redesigned to meet all EPA Tier 4i emission standards as well as to improve operating efficiency and productivity. At 286 net horsepower and equipped with a 6.3 cubic yard General Purpose bucket, this production class loader is a pace setter in the industry.

The most apparent change to the 92Z7 is the overall appearance. Striking new styling sets this machine apart from the crowd. These styling changes are functional as well as aesthetic. The hood design improves rear visibility and serviceability.

The powertrain for the 92Z7 provides power and durability. The reliable and fuel efficient Hino (Toyota) E13C-VV diesel engine meets all Tier 4i emission standards with the use of Cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation and Diesel Particulate Filter or Exhaust Filter systems. This 13 liter engine is the largest in the class, providing excellent reserve capacity. The big planetary automatic-shift transmission has automotive-style smooth shifting from pulse width modulation in the control valve. Plus the 92Z7 has standard Traction Control and Torque Proportioning Differentials to reduce wheel spin and extend tire life. The totally redesigned hydraulic system uses reliable, high performance Kawasaki variable displacement piston pumps that improve fuel efficiency. The standard Auto-Idle shutdown also reduces fuel consumption and improves DPF performance.

The operator cab is roomy and provides excellent visibility, controllability and comfort to optimize productivity. Operators will notice the creature comforts such as the totally adjustable side console, suspension seat and optional joystick steering. With full length glass side doors, low profile dash and standard reversible camera they will have excellent visibility.

Like all Kawasaki Z7 series loaders, the 92Z7 has many new features to allow the machine to be operated at peak efficiency in a wide range of applications. Many intelligent features use inputs from the machine to adjust performance to match the conditions. Other features allow the operator to make adjustments to fit his requirements for production or comfort.

Diagnostic systems have been improved to allow for more detailed data access to troubleshoot issues quickly and accurately. Serviceability is improved with easy access to the engine, cooling system cores, and filters. Oil change intervals have been increased for the engine and hydraulic systems to reduce overall operating costs. The Automatic Reversible Cooling fan efficiency is improved with aerodynamic designs to improve air flow and cooling efficiency.

Not only did the Kawasaki 92Z7 introduce many new features, but it retained several of the heavy duty structural features that it has become famous for. Things like the S-Shaped Z-Linkage Boom arm improve dump reach and clearance, giving it the highest Bucket Hinge Pin Height in its class. The Box Section Frames, Base Mounted Boom Cylinders and Heavy Duty Center Pin designs make the 92Z7 the strongest machine in its class. This machine is ideal loadout machine for quarries, or sand and gravel operations, or handling any tough jobs a wheel loader is required to do. This loader is the perfect 3-pass loader for most 24 ton highway trucks.
